Classical MileEnd Alpacas

Classical MileEnd Alpacas is owned and run by Chas Brooke and Rachel Hebditch. We run around 100 alpacas on seventy acres set in the heart of mid Devon at Vulscombe Farm, near Tiverton. Although the farm is surrounded by rolling Devon countryside, we are just 20 minutes from the M5, Junction 27, and the airports at Exeter and Bristol are only an hour or so away. Our spacious office was converted from an old farm building and we are blessed with a very large barn where our husbandry and breeding takes place with plenty of space for storing hay, feed and all the farm machinery whilst one wing is used for the storage and grading of fibre for UK Alpaca. We have added a modern loo and small kitchen area so that tea and coffee are always available.

We started with separate herds of alpacas, buying three pregnant females each many years ago. The alpacas were seen as an escape route from the professional sound business (Chas) and television (Rachel). Since then the herd has grown and been merged. Along the way we have imported breeding females and stud males from Australia, Canada and the USA and also bought stock from British breeders to enhance our herd. We have spent a lot of time and money researching and buying the right stock to improve the quality of our alpacas and in particular the fleece quality and yield.

The sale of alpacas and stud services are now our main business and we are very pleased with the quality of the animals for sale and our collection of fawn and white stud males, some imported and some home bred.

Both of us have served our time on the British Alpaca Society board and we are directors of UK Alpaca.
