Stud Services

Our stud males represent some of the best genetics in the world. We have invested heavily in sourcing bloodlines with predictable advanced traits and offering the opportunity to other breeders to breed progeny which include these genetics. They deliver predictability in advancing fleece qualities whilst ensuring good bone and conformation in their offspring. These have been critical to our breeding programme which aims to produce healthy, show winning animals with super fine fleeces displaying advanced staple structure and density, in white and solid colours.

2022 saw the arrival of two new stud males, Artwork B.R. Macchiato and Evolution Volcanicity to join two Houghton Placido sons Classical MileEnd Titian, Classical MileEnd Roma and Classical MileEnd Florian.

Macchiato, a beige (or is it white?), out of the beribboned Snowmass Bronze Royalty, exhibits excellent staple structure and staple length combined with an exceptionally calm demeanour. Volcanicity is fawn with an exceptionally dense, fine fleece and both males are awash with the best of Snowmass pedigree lines.

Florian, white, is the son of the fawn Appledene Commander in Chief, who is the finest of the fine, even in his later years. Houghton Placido thrilled us all by winning the light and white Sires Progeny shield at the BAS National 2022. His progeny are showing great density and fineness.

In 2025 we welcomed our lovely Beck Brow Turbo Charged to our farm. Selected for his extremely long staple length and colour as well as bearing the genetics of Bozedown Campari and Limestone Red, both proven with high end successful progeny. We are expecting our first Turbo Charged progeny in summer 2026

In 2024 our female junior show team of progeny from Macchiato, Placido and Volcanicity all won broad ribbons.

We offer an experienced and professional approach for the service of alpacas with a wide range of specialist skills and the support of our local veterinarian. Our own ultrasound equipment accurately monitors developing pregnancies with the assurance to our customers that the alpaca is indeed pregnant.

Stud servicing is available to clients as drive-bys only due to bio-security concerns.

Drive-by matings are when the owner brings the alpaca to our farm, observes the mating and then returns home with the served female. Spit off and pregnancy determination is the responsibility of the alpaca owner.

One of my great favourites, Florian is a well grown adult white male, correct in his conformation with a highly aligned, fine and dense bright fleece. His sire is the fawn Appledene Commander in Chief whose fleece has exhibited first class longevity of fineness. He has inherited this trait and shows great uniformity of micron with minimal primary fibres showing, even in his eight year.

Volcanicity was chosen as a fawn male with a very fine fleece, great density for his fineness and longevity of fineness with age. His micron uniformity is excellent and has continued the good works by our previous fawn male Commander In Chief (CIC) who has since moved on to other herds. The picture was taken in April 2026 at almost seven years of age and he remains a great upstanding herd sire who loves the ladies!

Glorious white male exhibiting a very fine fleece with excellent staple length and structure. His sire is the beribboned Snowmass Bronze Royalty with all the big names from Snowmass behind him. Very impressed with the style and substance of bone of these alpacas and it will be very interesting to see what colours he produces given his sire and grandsire. Has done great work in our herd for improving all fleece and bone traits.

Beck Brow Turbo Charged of CME

Turbo Charged joined our herd in early 2025 and was primarily selected for his great staple length and colour. He has good fineness to his fleece, good uniformity of micron with high density well crimped organised small staples. His pedigree is impressive with both dam and sire producing many show winning offspring. We look forward to his cria in 2026.
