UK Alpaca buys fleeces from British breeders, usually about 10,000 kilos a year. The fleece is hand graded at our farm in Devon and then goes to the commission processors in the North of England to be made into fully worsted yarn that can be used for knitting, weaving and crochet. White baby grade fleeces fetch the highest prices followed by white superfine and coloured baby and superfine. All the outsorts are used by manufacturers in the UK and Poland to make duvets so that there is no waste.
