We had a good first day at the show selling a lot of yarn. We had two baskets of bobbin ends whch just flew out – all the knitters are looking for a bargain and we try hard to make sure they get one. I met a very jolly couple from Bourton on the Water who stock our yarns, an American journalist who is writing about us and various designers who are interested in the machine knit yarns. Next door is a very nice girl who makes kits from UK Alpaca yarns so it was pleasant to talk to her. There is also another British alpaca stand here – the guys from Dry Drayton Alpacas I think – who are selling 100% alpaca yarns in natural colours only. Their designer has made some nice clothes so we hope they will take part in the British Alpaca Futurity fashion show.
Our hotel has proved slightly disappointing although very splendid to look at. But they have mended the shower and done something to make sure the mattress doesn’t sag in the middle – I was contemplating a week of ibuprofen!
