Andrew found a tiny hairless cria in the field yesterday chucked out months early. We found the female as she was quite bloodyand swollen. The cria was due in late June. It is always disappointing when this happens and often you never know until you come to scan all the girls again in the spring. Usually sod’s law applies and it is your best female but not this time, the female is nice but not a champion.
We are all frozen up again but at least it is dry and the mud is frozen. And it gives us another chance to whittle down the show team as we might be able to tell what’s what now they have dried out.
I have finished the Futurity catalogue – hurrah – and it is one its way to the printers and on to your doorsteps in a week or so. It is a relief as I have lots of other things to do…cleaning the house would be a very good idea. I try not to put my glasses on, that way I am blissfully unaware of the cobwebs.
