We’ve spent the best part of today going through breedings – three fields done, two to go. Had to stop as the males have done three each and that is quite enough for one, very warm day. Joshua has been using the hedge trimmer and very exhausting it looked too, he went quite pink. I shall have my view back and the rambling roses I planted there might have a chance to take over. Andrew has been moving the dung heap as we have a dumper truck on hire and is now shifting more plainings on to the track running down the farm. We should be lying around reading the papers but there is just too much work to do and as it is not raining we have to do it.
I forgot to tell you about this marvellous sign we say outside a church in Virginia. It read ‘Sunday Worship & Hot Dogs’.
