We have been whizzing through the breedings today. There aren’t that many but all rejected and quite a few of them are coming up for scanning next week. Most of them were growling at the male before he had got into the pen and just did a token spit. Two of the heavy pregnants who are up in the paddock right by the office are nearly 12 months and still no cria. They look vast and are at that, oh I can’t be bothered stage, and just sit around a lot.
We saw four fox cubs today, quite small ones. They are still at that tubby stage and were playing in a patch of grass in the sun. When we turned up the cubs shot off along the hedge and into the den while the vixen took off across the field away from the cubs. Our neighbours are not best pleased with the fox and want them gone. It seems a shame until you find a house full of headless chickens. The cats have been out hunting today too, two dead baby rabbits arrived in the barn, the crunching as they eat them is not good!
