Two cria were born yesterday. A white girl by Bozedown Tudor who popped out around lunchtime and an ET boy by Tulaco Centurion and my Highlander girl Bellarine. This boy is very promising, a solid dark fawn, lots of bone and a very dense fleece. We have been showing his half sister in the fawn intermediate classes this season and she has always been first or second. The recipient mum is not as they say a wonderful animal, a bit like a boot brush, but she has plenty of milk and is an excellent mother. They both had coats on yesterday as we had a very cold wind. I’ve taken them off this morning as it looks as if it is going to be a scorcher.
We have a huge pile of wood in the yard now. Andrew and Kyle managed to cut and haul up about half of an absolutely massive fallen tree yesterday rubbishing two chains on the chainsaw in the process. Reinforcements, a friend of Kyle and a work experience boy, are being called in on Monday to try and get the really huge bits up. This is my wood supply for next winter or maybe the winter after as I still have quite a lot in the wood shed. Last winter we only had the central heating on in the bathroom and our bedroom as the woodburner gives off a huge amount of heat.

Make the work experience boy suffer! I hear the chicken shed needs clearing out…

Nice one Shwua, but I’ve heard they’re saving a nice dirty goat pen for someone…..
