The little black cria was whizzing round the field yesterday afternoon to the irritation of the heavy pregnant girls who snarled at him as he weaved in and out, bouncing around full of the joys of spring. The white girl who was born a month early is putting on weight and doing OK but not as boisterous as the boy.

I spent yesterday potting up my birthday plants and getting the terrace organised. I should have been toiling away at my desk but didn’t feel in the slightest motivated even though the Alpaca World magazine deadline looms. Chas was away all day fetching Kyle from university. They arrived back at about seven with the car very, very full. I gave strict orders that all must go into his room and no corridors should be blocked with stuff. This may have been an error because I have no idea how Kyle managed to traverse the heap and get into his bed.
