Dear me, we came back from setting up at FibreFest to find another stuck cria. We were going to go to the pub, good thing we didn’t. Anyway Chas was with me hurrah, and he got the stuck leg organised and out came a very nice dark fawn female cria, a full sister to Cassandra who was champion fawn at Honiton and North Devon Shows. It was eight oclock and although the cria was strong and lively it got plasma anda night in the barn as we didn’t want to stay up for hours making sure it had suckled. Looking out of the bathroom window this morning there was another little mite sat up in the field, this time a white Jaquinto female. The mother was distinctly unamused when I turned up in a white bathrobe and pink wellys to spray its navel.

After all that excitement we are off to FibreFest to man the UK Alpaca stand.
