We were plodding up and down the track halter training when we saw the lovely Lucille give birth. This is an eagerly awaited birth as Lucille, a brown, has a brilliant track record. Chas always used to take her into the ring when he felt short of sashes and even now at nine years old she is 21 micron with the most beautifull regal carriage. Her cria are always just like her. This cria, a girl, dark fawn or light brown, is by Dovecote Jaquinto and like all his cria, she was up and going in a matter of minutes. He is probably the best male ever to have been put over Lucille so I am hoping for great things. So that’s four Jaquinto cria so far this year, two boys, a white and a fawn and two girls, a white and a dark fawn. Next up is the ancient Mika who we put to Distinction so hopefully we’ll get a very nice coloured cria as Mika usually throws black. She is one of those very dark brown girls with black points.
The show team are very slowly improving and walked quite well today. We have one notable exception who keeps going down on his knees, even more work required!
