Three tons of alpaca feed arrived yesterday, sadly not at the farm, but a couple of miles away at Pages Cross. Andrew drove the tractor and flatbed with Chas following in the mule to collect it as the lorry driver balked at our very snowy roads. They had to creep back with that amount of weight but made it without sliding into a ditch. However Chas manaed to back the big car ibnto a Devon bank, he said as we heard the crunch ‘that sound’s expensive’ and I fear it will be as it is the brake light and the bumper and in the Toyota these come in one big piece.

We woke up this morning to hear the wind moaning around the house and although we have a very slow thaw, no water running through the field pipes yet. And there is a load of snow forecast for this afternoon and tonight. What fun eh? Middle son Alex is supposed to be taking us out to dinner tonight but I’m fairly convinced we will be staying at home in a bit of a blizzard. Still the freezer has plenty of food in it, we could be here for weeks and not starve and now neither will the alpacas.
