Gosh, my brain hurts, I’ve been proofing the British Alpaca Futurity catalogue, it is so full of detail and opportunities for mistakes that it takes hours. You get a very strong desire to stop reading the stuff you have read so many times already but have to keep going without the aid of gin. Why haven’t I got a secretary to bring me cream buns and cappucino? Our alpacas look a bit grim, so muddy. We went down to see Tania at Caton Alpacas on the way to Plymouth and hers are all dry and marvellous. I think we might be forced to hose down the legs of our juniors to get them clean before hitting the show ring. They won’t like that.
I heard the woodpecker yesterday and today for the first time in ages. He was hammering away somewhere down in the valley. And a load of fieldfares came through at the weekend. There is life out there after all.
