We have been busy this morning taking photos of the alpacas we intend to put up for sale. It is fantastic to see them looking so lovely after several dry days and lots of sunshine. It is hard to believe that they were sodden, bedraggled things a few days ago after all that rain. How do they brush up so beautifully? If only we could do it too.
We are still halter training as the juniors we took to the Futurity were not that good at walking in the ring. It is sod’s law that the ones that were useless at home walk beautifully in front of the judges and the ones that were good go bananas. The two intermediate fawn females are old hands as they were shown last year and just toddle along quite happily. I want some staff to do it so I don’t have to bang my head against the wall too much. Sadly staff are beyond our budget.
Alex is 28 today. I have just rung him up to wish him a Happy Birthday. He is at work at the Royal College of Nursing Library, then goes off to play netball before entertaining a select few to Cava and Shepherd’s pie – sounds very pleasant to me. I have given him a course of driving lessons as he has never got round to learning…will he beat his brother and pass first time??
