The latest edition of Alpaca World magazine is about to arrive on the door mat and hopefully here today. It is completely different when you see it in the flesh as it were rather than the proof copies I have to correct. There is usually a deliberate mistake which obviously isn’t really deliberate that escapes my red pen. The unfortunate thing is that you do get very bored reading the same article several times particularly if you have written it so you do miss things.
I instantly start planning the next one so that I have plenty of time to beat up my writers should they ‘forget’ to deliver on time. I know exactly what it is like as I am just as bad and very rarely write the article until close to the deadline. Deadlines are addictive.
We have a meeting today – the inquest on the last issue. I feel awful, a horrible sore throat that the ibuprofen won’t touch, I shall have to sit at the other end of the office so as not to give it to anyone else.
