We set off for Ally Pally this morning, pausing momentarily to give a cria pooing green liquid stuff the relevant medicines. When we hit London Chas turned into a testosterone fuelled crazy London driver weaving in and out of the lanes like a complete nutcase. I pointed out that he was 60 years old and possibly could drive in a calm manner. He said it was all about keeping the traffic moving while I cowered in the passenger seat shutting my eyes frequently and gibbering gently. Oh well, I cried, you may be having fun but I am having fifty fits and feel very ill. We did have a very pleasant lunch, courtesy of M&S, sushi, humous and carrots, raw peas and lovely tomatoes.

Many traffic jams later we arrived at the Knitting and Stitching Show to find John and Anna profoundly chilled out claiming they had finished the stand by 11.30. Two hours later the stand was really finished and we set off for our hotel in Hendon that turned out to be quite flash. The restaurant however was pretty indiferent and typically the starter – warm figs and Serrano ham – was good but the mains stuffed rabbit loin, very ordinary. We’ll have to find somewhere else to take the boys.

  1. Lets go somewhere cheap and cheerful! You and Chas can do the fine dining on the other nights.
