Jules, the brown gelding, scored again as the most loveable alpaca as far as Colin and Linda were concerned. I took them off on the mule when I was doing the feeding round which they enjoyed although Linda seemed a bit unnerved by our slopes.
We went out for a good dinner at the Stag Inn at Rackenford, the food was very impressive although I ate far too much – pigeon breast, belly pork and chocolate fondant – and suffered with a certain amount of indigestion in the middle of the night. My own fault for being very greedy. Linda and I went off to my favourite farm shop and came back with loads of goodies. Nice to have an old friend to go shopping with.
The drizzle has come in now so the youngest cria, who is a bit of a weed has come in for the night with his mother. We are not convinced that this one is going to make it, it is a bit slow but there’s nothing obvious wrong with it. I’m not sure, maybe it is doomed.
