It is always nice to get home again even though the pile of mail and the inbox is a bit off putting. It is amazingly warm and the alpacas are dry, the Devon drizzle is elsewhere for a day or two. We are still trying to get the new fields ready and the water is still a problem. We are going for a temporary solution. Install a water trough and fill it every day from the water supply the builders are using until we can find another way. That shouldn’t be too onerous as the girls have to be looked at twice a day, they are not lactating, and no doubt there will be plenty of wet grass.

We are on the road again tomorrow afternoon as we have to go to Middlesboro for Kyle’s graduation. This is a five hour drive each way which is a bit of a bore. It is pretty difficult to get there by train so we’ll be on the road in the old gas guzzler. Chas is completely converted to trains for the trip to London particularly now as he has his rail pass and can go first class relatively cheaply. He hasn’t tried a bus yet!
