There’s a turn up for the books, a whole weekend of sunshine. The latest cria had a beautiful warm day to get up on her feet and there was plenty of sunbathing going on in alpacaland. We had matings to do in the morning and then went off for a field inspection. Our neighbour’s field, that was a sea of grass and weeds, is turning into a meadow now. The alpacas are doing an excellent job.
My food poisoning returned with a vengeance and I was doubled up most of the afternoon with appalling stomach pains, no idea why. I contemplated going to the quack but feel much better today and have concluded that perhaps that was the bacteria’s last gasp. I certainly hope so, it has been ten days now.
Felt very sad when I went into Joshua’s empty bedroom. Leaving him at University College London in London was fine, it was the coming back here that was the problem. Anyway I phoned him up and all seems well apart from the pathetic showers at Max Rayne House and the stinky loos.
Anne Rogers is sending the calendars and diaries this week. I am really looking forward to seeing them as she says the calendar is better than the last one which was absolutely beautiful. I hope all you alpaca lovers out there will buy one!
