Our foot of snow is still with us, no hint of a thaw. We fill their water troughs repeatedly, it freezes over in no time and so it goes on. Very exhausting really and the hay is disappearing fast. The alpacas don’t seem to mind, the youngsters career around their field kicking snow into the air and they eat up the feed pronto. The third session of gritting the lane means that we are now out of road salt and I can’t see anyone coming to fill our snow box any time soon. Half my Chtistmas presents are out their somewhere and the couriers don’t seem to have a clue where any of them are.

Alex managed to get here last night having given up on Berrys Coaches and used National Express instead. Today we went out to the farm up the road to cut down our Christmas tree. They give you a saw and all sizes of Christmas tree are a tenner. A bargain and fun too. Joshua and Alex are decorating it now. Sadly my ham is also still out there somewhere and again UPS don’t seem to know whether it has reached Exeter yet. The really irritating thing is that you are never allowed to speak to a human and it is not as if the main roads are difficult, they are fine, it is just us lot in the middle of nowhere who have trouble.
