Our American boys arrive at Heathrow today, apparently they were perfect travellers and behaved perfectly at Calgary airport being calm and curious. Not like me then, a nervous wreck on aeroplanes much to the amusement of my travelling companions. Talon and Point Blank will be at Bozedown with Mary Jo until the end of July and Dynamics and our two youngsters will come here. Then Talon and Point Blank can come and experience the excessive grass of Devon after their sojourn on the scrorched plains of the South East.
Yesterday was one of those days when you thank god for diggers. We are on a sub water meter from our neighbour and he was fiddling about with the stop cock at our meter when it sheared off CLOSED. No water in the house or the barn or the fields, no bath for me. Luckily Andrew was back after everything conspired against him in the Czech Republic and he missed his plane. A very large trench had to be dug so that a new meter, stopcock and length of pipe could go in and he had to find the stopcock for the house. This has a cover but was completely overgrown with lawn. What lawn? I used to have one but now it is a pile of earth and rubble as the trench is staying open to check for leaks for a couple of days.
