We are off to sunny (I wish) St Mawes this afternoon for a week off. This is a first as Chas and I tend to steal a couple of days off when we are delivering animals in France, but this time we intend to have a holiday. We’ve rented a cottage on the harbour front so if there is a big storm the waves will crash into us. The Tall Ships are coming into Falmouth on Wednesday and leaving Saturday so that should be a great sight and there’s a fireworks display and lots of extra things going on. The great thing about St Mawes is you can get to most places by ferry so the car is abandoned in the village car park although we’ll have to use it to get to the Tate in St Ives – I haven’t been for ages. Our stockman has a very long list of instructions as have our boys Josh and Kyle. Several alpacas that we hoped would have birthed, haven’t, typical! Still we will be on the end of the mobile and I’m taking my laptop – hello WiFi.
