Thank you for your birthday greetings. Two excellent presents today – our first Tulaco Centurion baby from a Jaquinto daughter arrived today – a dark fawn girl and a lovely upstanding one at that. Earlier an Avalanche daughter presented us with another fawn girl, a week shy of eleven months. So it is still a girl year with them far outnumbering the boys. I haven’t opened my birthday presents yet as Chas and Andrew were shearing the rest of the show team today and I wanted a glass of champagne in my hand first – that is coming soon. The Jaquinto progeny fleeces that are coming off are absolutely stunning with very high amplitude crimp and beautiful bundling. It is wonderful to see. We were thrilled that CME Paris won the Intermediate Male Champion at the Bath & West and we took some pictures of him today with his latest ribbon before he was shorn. His fleece was gorgeous too.The Tulaco Centurion progeny fawn fleeces are amazingly bright, I haven’t looked at them all yet as they only did the fawns today. It is good to see such progress as sometimes breeding alpacas is like running up a sand dune but I am very proud of these animals and feel we have made some good decisions. You can’t stop running though so next stop the USA and the AOBA National Show to see what their best animals are like.
