Good thing we went out and cut down our Christmas tree yesterday in a brief sunny spell – today it is lashing down. We went to the farm up the road where they hand you a saw, take a tenner from you, and let you loose amongst the Christmas trees. Alex and I also cut various bits of greenery, holly and ivy, to decorate the house and left it in the barn overnight to dry. Unfortunately I think we’ll be hard pressed to keep it dry on the trip to the house today. I do feel sorry for the alpacas out in all this, they always look so grubby when wet. Still they appear perfectly fit, piling in to the hay. My turkey is defrosting and I am wondering about brining it – all the newspaper chefs seem to say you should…hmm.
