This time we were ambling up the track that runs through the farm with a load of girls when in the distance galloping towards us, one randy stud male who had trashed a fence to get out. We had parked him and the young males up on the ramp temporarily – an error. Chas had him by the ear pretty pronto and he walked up calmly behind the girls until we could lock him away. It is that time of year so while the boys were in the shearing harness we have checked their fighting teeth and removed any that are starting to grow again. We don’t want any slashing of testicles on our farm. The young boys Paris and Adonis are looking gorgeous. I love shorn alpacas, so elegant.
