I have just been outside having a cup of tea and admiring the Devon hills in the sunshine all the while with a cacophony of shotguns going off in the distance as the pheasant shoot is in full pelt. I came back into the office and saw a pile of something disgusting on the floor – cat sick. I went off to the barn to get something to clean it up and found Alice had eaten it all up. How disgusting is that, dogs are revolting. She’s not joining me on the sofa this evening.
Chas has heaved a huge sigh of relief now that his giant British Alpaca Futurity Information Package has been posted. It is even bigger this year as there is a fleece show as well. It is mailed out by this seriously whingeing person in Taunton, his bedside manner is appalling, I’m amazed he gets much business but we don’t know anyone else who can do it. Alpaca World magazine is mailed out by the printers and they are rather jolly. The next job is the Winter issue of the magazine followed by the Futurity catalogue. In between we are off to France to do a fibre lecture and hopefully bring back enough booze for Christmas and a few presents. My present drawer is pretty full but I always end up at the last minute with the difficult ones – i.e. Chas. One year Joshua and I were saved when we decided to give him a sat nav which he does adore. But this year? Who knows.
Josh –
Quick! Quick! The cat’s been sick.
Where? Where? Under the chair.
Hasten! Hasten! Fetch the basin.
Alack! Alack! It is too late, The carpet’s in an awful state.
No! No! It’s all in vain, For the dog has licked it up again.
