Chas set off early this morning with five animals destined for Holland. Leo was meeting him at Reading services to take them over the Channel. Unfortunately the aged brain let Chas down and he forgot the fleeces that he had been particularly told to remember. My mobile phone rings as I am out feeding alpacas, which is unusual because normally I have turned the ringer off by mistake and I am told to drop everything, hurl fleeces in the car and set off up that motorway as fast as an ancient Ford Focus will allow. Wilko I cry happy that I got four new tyres the other day and the wheels were balanced so that over 60 it no longer feels as if the steering wheel is about to eject. Got home about 10 and spent the rest of the day feeding animals, cleaning out chickens and filling the log shed, in utter peace. Great.
