Whoopee, it is halter training time again. We started with the junior boys yesterday and today just putting halters on them and letting them stand around calmly. Only one in the bunch is not calm and he’s going to be a bit of trouble as he leaps about or sits down. No doubt he will realise that he is not destined for the barbeque eventually. I thought we would do three days in a row with the boys and then three days with the girls before we start the walking down the track. Unfortunately Chas has selected some alpacas for the intermediate team that have never been shown before so we have to hike them out of their fields and start training them as well. Mind you I always think the older animals are a lot easier and more confident, let’s hope so.

We thawed out and then were frozen again on Tuesday and Wednesday and I saw with some horror that more snow is forecast down here. It never seems to miss us. Have we upset someone up there?
