Bernard with a Beard made hay on just over half of our new field at the weekend which involved loading and hauling more three hundred bales back to the farm. We do not have the stamina any more but Bernard’s whole family turned up so all was well. The top part of the field is a separate paddock and he couldn’t get his tractor in there as the trees are so low so Andrew has been sent off with the chain saw today so it can be cut tomorrow. It is a lot leafier up there so hopefully there will be lots of bales from that one.
Matt, Tom and I picked ten tons of elderflower this weekend, my thumb is black now. And they are going to pickle ash keys and elderflower buds, ah the hunter gatherers of central London.
