I got very bored in the office yesterday so slunk away in the afternoon to the pick your own farm at Halberton. I spent a happy hour picking raspberries. The canes have taken a bashing with the wind and rain we have had but were still loaded with fruit and there wasn’t that much mould considering. There were hardly any wasps but loads of little bumblebees whizzing around. Dropped off at Morrisons to recycle newspapers and bottles, buy preserving sugar and head home to get out the preserving pan. Raspberry jam is so simple to make and always sets beautifully. I made 12 jars, froze some and ate the rest!
My Buff Orpingtons are getting very bold. They toddled into the office yesterday chirrupping away. I had to tell them to leave as we don’t want chicken poo in the office. We already have a very stinky dog who has rolled in something very dead. It was straight into the shower for her.
