We finally arrived home just before midnight last night after four days grafting for UK Alpaca at the Knitting & Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace. Couldn’t believe that half our drive in Devon had been washed away whilst in London it was fine and sunny with fantastic views from Ally Pally to the Shard and beyond. Our stand was located in the Designer area for the first time which was a lot nicer as the main room, the Great Hall, gets absolutely jammed with people. Shopping in the Designer bit is much calmer and less crowded and easier for us. We exceeded our target about halfway through day three and day four, the Sunday, usually quiet, was very good too. Very nice to come back with an awful lot less yarn than we went with.
Eldest son Tom and his partner Matt put us up in their flat in Gospel Oak, fantastic not to have to stay in an hotel. We went to Pizza East down the road, I love pizzas, nothing left on my plate and on the Saturday went to a very good gastropub The Bull and Last. There was an absolutely massive Canadian moose head poking out of the wall by our table. It turned out that ‘Last’ in the title was nothing to do with shoes. In fact the pub was the Bull and it was the last stop for wagons hence Bull and Last – we had spent some time googling ‘last’ but all our theories turned to dust!
