We think one of the builders at our project down the lane snuck down there and dumped a whole load of leylandii on our bonfire. Pretty annoying particularly as we had just moved a group of pregnant female alpacas in there. Lucky it was not yew or something equally poisonous. I had to burn it straightaway just in case. Will have to have words with them tomorrow when they return to work.
Chas, Joshua and I had a go at one side of our garden yesterday and discovered quite a few shrubs buried beneath brambles and other shrubs. We slashed and burned our way through a lot of bramble and I was pouring blood from some nasty scratches. I got my revenge when the brambles went up in smoke. Unfortunately the bonfire was a bit over the top and the muck heap, which had a lot of straw and hay in it, caught fire too and smoked out the entire valley. Sorry. Very stiff today from heaving branches around.
Jeff Brooking, the Alpaca World magazine designer, has come up with a new look for the front cover. I have just done the final, final proofing so the files will go up to Buxton Press tonight for printing this week. Hurrah, a bit of a gap now before I start working on the Summer edition.
