This weekend we’ve been to the Dutch Show in Hapert near Eindhoven where Classical MileEnd Lysander, now owned by Alpacas of the Lowlands, put in a storming performance winning the fleece show and the halter show for the second year running. I had to go and walk round the building several times but once he was beige champion I was happy, the supreme huacaya championship was most certainly the cream on the cake. Leo and Marieke also won the brown huacaya championship with a daughter from our jointly owned male Bozedown Kazzan. There was also a delightful dark fawn Paris weanling who was second in her class. This girl is only just weaned and the judge said she was one to watch, I agree, I think she’s going to be stunning. The show was very well run as usual and they had over 180 alpacas to get through in a day and all went like clockwork. We behaved SO WELL, going to bed early, hardly any glasses of white wine, Iain and Mary Jo were shovked not to find us in the bar.
