Marvellous news from Joshua who has been offered an internship for three months in Madagascar with a conservation group starting straight after our barn party on August 1. How amazing is that, dancing lemurs here he comes. The blossom is fantastic here and today is so warm too. I’ve started digging the garden as I really ought to plant some seeds, the broad beans are looking good in the only dug patch so far but the spinach has reappeared from last year and there are a load of baby leeks and spring onions poking through the weeds. Well done plants. I saw William’s first asparagus for sale in the market this week so a trip to Somerset is called for to sample some. I have a good excuse, it is William’s birthday shortly. Andrew and Chas started shearing the females we left empty last year as they birthed so late and we plan to start mating some of those this afternoon.
