Our primroses are beautiful, loads of them in the hedgerows. They are the only things that are really growing, apart from brambles, I’ve been pulling them out of our so called garden all weekend and only managed to clear a small area. The fields are like a prairie and even though there is loads of sweet smelling hay the alpacas spend most of the time nibbling at non existent grass. One of the girls aborted on Saturday, the cria was due in early August and I found it in the field with all its internal organs gone. The fox no doubt, who also managed to tunnel into my chicken pen, kill three cock birds and drag at least one other out. The enclosure has been very secure for several years now so it was a bit of a shock, feathers everywhere and two other chickens looking the worse for wear.
