The electricity went off at 8.30 this morning leaving us computer addicts chewing our fingernails. They are putting some cables underground up the road. Good thing we have an AGA so tea and coffee still available. Instead we tried to do useful things. John Arbon turned up with the latest batch of sock yarn which is lovely so we had a happy time counting hanks. Then we had a go at sorting out the words for some new pop ups for our trade stand as we are Silver Sponsors at the British Alpaca Futurity – lots of head scratching and wielding of the red pen.
Then we went off to collect a group of alpacas. They are a very pretty bunch of five and once we arrived home they were wormed, given Fasinex against fluke and a good jollop of CCS (copper, cobalt and selenium). They are staying in the barn overnight and they will be off to their new field quarters tomorrow after we have scanned them. The power was supposed to come on at 4.30 but they were late so I was reading out phone numbers to Chas in the dark with magnifying glass in hand.
