The light has been blinking on the oil tank for ten days now and we still haven’t had a delivery even though ordinary cars can get in and out easily. To make matters worse the oil company rang yesterday, in hysterics, as two of their tankers had slid into a hedge somewhere. I have been on a paraffin search and managed to find 13 four litre cans in Tiverton which have gone in to the tank. However the blinking light is still blinking although more slowly. Chas has been out scanning and he has sent a text saying he is coming back in with another 19 from Mole Valley – hurrah. Hopefully that will keep the aga going until they deliver. Only the wood burner is keeping us warm – Chas turns the heating off in the evenings, what about the chilblains? We have to get the tank filled up before Christmas or the boys will be very miserable. My present buying has slowed to a snail’s pace now that I have got to the very difficult ones – i.e. Chas. With any luck inspiration will strike…soon.
