This morning the cat was on the doorstep first thing with a very large dead rat. We concluded this was a special present as we had been away in Hapert for the Dutch Show, thank you cat. The show was more fun than usual as we were accompanied by Karen Oglesby who was excellent company. There was a good contingent of Antipodeans at the show presumably selling madly to the locals. Progeny from three males that we bred CME Lysander, CME Paris and MileEnd Leon did well and the little ones won the brown and beige championships. I had packed loads of jumpers as last year it was freezing but instead the weather was stunning. I was looking forward to the chip van too but it wasn’t there. Our friends Leo and Marieke were on good form with Leo drinking far into the night with Chris Williams of Ambersun but appearing the next morning as bright and bouncy as ever WITHOUT any trace of hangover, sickening really. The show dinner was very good indeed with absolutely lovely food, very impressive. Leo won a wheelbarrow which he claimed he used to take everyone to bed, not sure I believe that one.
I haven’t really written about the Futurity because we were so exhausted by the end of it that by the time we were sane again we were in the tunnel on the way to Holland. Full report in Alpaca World magazine!

thank you for selling these incredible alpacas.

Thank you for taking me to Holland with you – it was great fun and I really enjoyed your company and meeting your friends. Well done again for your breeding successes. By the way, that cheese I bought which looked so ripe stunk the house out, so it went in the bin – smelt of poultice from a horses hoof … I just couldn’t bring myself to eat it! Wine was lovely though and the puddings went down a treat on Nick’s course! See you soon Karen xx
