A group of proper cattle and sheep farmers came on a visit yesterday evening. We walked round some of the fields and although there was a very large black cloud hovering nearby, it stayed fine. I think they were quite interested in the animals but rather more interested in the machinery and what had been going on at the weekend as they had heard the music and seen all the tents on the lawn.
The black clouds really did come to visit today with torrential storms this afternoon. Luckily Josh and I had finished feeding the animals before the serious rain kicked off. It did not help Andrew’s grading of the drive with the digger and we have a nice pond of red water around the back door as the new drains are not in yet.
It is the Mid Devon Show on Saturday and every time the stair rods come down we groan thinking of the show field which is probably waterlogged by now. We are setting up there tomorrow…oh dear.
