It has been chucking it down all day, really heavy rain with no let up until now. The zip is broken on my waterproof coat so I have been borrowing various ancient coats belonging to Chas. As one gets soaked and goes on the heated towel rail in the loo in the barn, I reach for another. Luckily my waterproof trousers do what it says on the label. Andrew bought some new ones and they were not so he was very miserable by the end of the day. The heavy rain revealed lots of new and exciting drain problems, not solved yet. Chas found his old pump in the greasy barn and that was pumping water out of the drain while Andrew tried to solve the problem, no luck.

Meanwhile we were hard at work doing matings – day 3 of it as Jaquinto and Tulaco Centurion tipped up on Sunday and we wanted to get everyone mated before we fly to the USA tomorrow. We are off to an auction in Virginia and Chas has booked us into some seminars so we may end up a lot poorer but frightfully well educated.

Kyle has crashed his car – just a few weeks after he bought it, his very first car that is. He rolled it several times and was lucky to have come out of A&E with just a few cuts and bruises. Chas was not amused and neither was I as I gave him a rollocking not long ago after he passed me on the road home at breakneck speed. Hopefully he will not behave so foolishly again and stop driving far too fast when stone cold sober.
