It is very cheering to have sunshine day after day although it is freezing at night and the chilblains on my stump have returned. Long search in a very untidy medicine cupboard for the relevant soothing balm, much improvement now. The alpacas look lovely again which is just as well as the show team are going to the Futurity next week. The bottom part of their legs have dried out but still retaining quite a bit of glorious dried Devon mud. Should we wash them? I don’t know and anyway they won’t like it.

The two girls who refused to walk anywhere are improving although the little angry one does still spit at the wall but she has stopped doing alarm calls every minute which is a relief. The older one still sits down quite a lot but does actually walk. If they go on improving we might be able to take them… I will feel I should take them into the ring as it seems unfair to give the handlers all that grief.

Our office is getting smaller by the day as more entries for the art, photographic and craft competitions arrive, big boxes of boxes for the fleece competition, lots of banners from other breeders to hang from the roof of Hall 2, millions of rolls of tape and general ‘stuff’ that our esteemed Futurity ‘boss’ Mr Brooke deems to be required. My list of essential supplies to keep the ‘grunt’ team going on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday is getting longer, which biscuits do you prefer boys??

  1. We also have to train the little ones for the show in March. Seems to be a problem. Next week on futurity. Not too much time for it anymore…
    See you, Leo
