Hello again, website fell off the ether but we are back now. The storm was fairly violent here but only two smallish trees down and no other damage. I went to Charmouth on the day of the storm to look for fossils. I found several good ammonites but couldn’t get very far along the beach as there were two big cliff falls and the tide wasn’t low enough to get round them safely or rather to get back again without having to navigate some very glurpy mud.
The vast majority of the alpacas are coping with this wet weather although we have another mum and cria we are concerned about. The cria has a low temperature but is eating well. They are spending the nights in the barn and their days on the lawn which needs a bit of a mowing.
My magazine Alpaca World magazine is out now, all the subscribers should have had it and the 95 agricultural stores that take it will get it this week. Need to start thinking seriously about the next one. We have a meeting this week with the designer and our advertising supremo Heidi to talk through the next one, discuss the editorial lined up etc.
