Thank you to all of you who offered to lend us a trailer in our hour of need – it was very, very kind and we are most grateful. In the end we decided that we would probably never get the trailer back and set out to try and buy one. Graham Edwards has a waiting list of three weeks, Winston Pincombe for the Ifor trailers six weeks. Chas went on phoning and we found one at the Ifor dealers in Launceston who were absolutely charming. Problem solved although large hole in bank account until we get the insurance sorted. We have our name on a Mule at the place in South Molton but they really are expensive so we thought we would wait to actually pay for it and take delivery until we get the money from the NFU. We can manage with the tractor for the time being particularly as it is dry and it won’t chew up the fields. It was not a good day yesterday as one of our girls aborted – the first one for two years – and when my Visa bill turned up there were a series of bizarre transactions on it involving Lufthansa, Swedish and US sites all done on Easter Sunday. I hardly ever use this card as this has happened before so another phone call to Visa. This time they announced they had been monitoring my account as it looked so odd. You think at this point, well, why didn’t you contact me and cancel the card earlier – very tedious.

  1. so sorry to hear of your plight. i bought a new Kawasaki recently and asked the dealer for advice on security. He said that the gangs have battery powered tools and can get around any security device.

  2. Do these guys read blogs?…just be carefull what you write.

  3. Hi Rachel, I am very sorry for your trailer. We just got our nem Ifor trailer, but that is of no use for you… Don’t trailers have their own licenseplate in the UK? In the Netherlands it would be very difficult to sell a stolen trailer… I hope everything turns out ok. That the ensureancecompany pays the bill or that they (the police) wil find the stolen stuff… What is the kawasaki (is it the little car)?

    Many greetings from Holland,
    Leo van Merwijk

  4. Someone had a go at my Natwest business card yesterday, Bahamas Telecom no less!
They got through all the ‘secure’procedure and changed my password.
