Here we are again, very wet people and alpacas. I did one of those slo-mo falls the other day, sliding backwards, rather elegantly I thought, but sadly landed in a stream. I thought it would be OK as I was wearing waterproof trousers forgetting that they were full of holes. Later I went down to Tiverton with the post and realised as I headed up the High Street that I was still wet and still covered in mud. Had to send up a prayer that I would not meet anyone I knew.

It was flu jab day at our doctor’s surgery on Saturday and the nurse told me they were going to jab 790 people in one day.  I was extremely lucky and didn’t have to wait at all as when I was tottering up the stairs, the nurse’s door was open and in I swept. Usually they give you all the guff about sitting down for ten minutes after the jab and I have to murmur vaguely as I never do it, things to do and all that, but this time no cautionary lecture, probably because it was rush hour in the building.

Back home we started hauling some of the wood that Andrew has cut in the new field so that they can fence. The hedge hasn’t been laid in a very long time so there’s plenty of good firewood. We came back to the farm and there was a cria on the ground. Another boy annoyingly as CME Venus had a boy last time. However it might be a good one as the last cria won the Junior Male championship at the Royal Bath & West and the Best of British cup. Fingers crossed.
