The last lot of snow was still lying on the ground in the top half on the farm. Today we’ve got even more, falling heavily now. Maybe it will get warmer as everything is frozen up. I have been out with a spade smashing the ice in the water troughs and filling them up, quite fun really, licensed vandalism. The alpacas all seem fine. It is a shame they are getting wet as they looked beautiful yesterday in the cold, dry weather, particularly the stud males, their fleece is just right so they look very tidy.

We have had no water in the house, much cursing about our neighbour as he had left an 80 metre length of water pipe unburied across his field after a burst in the autumn. Guess what, it froze. Eventually Andrew was allowed to go out with our digger and make a trench and bury the pipe. No thank you was forthcoming but at least we could wash this morning!
