I have recycled most of the bottles – we did get through a lot of Cava – and had some very good Christmas wrapping bonfires and we are now back at work. All of this week has been taken up with the Winter edition of Alpaca World magazine that goes up to the printers on Wednesday. We have shipped off a load of neck fibre to Holland where it is going to be made into duvets and, more to the point, they are actually paying for it. All the rest of the fibre we have bought this year is up north wending its way through the early stages of processing – my fibre barn is very empty now. We’ve also sold four animals so that’s a good way to start the New Year and are running at around 170 animals on farm which is a much better number to manage. Small is beautiful and all that. We’d like to be closer to 150 so that’s an ambition for 2012.
