It is horribly wet here and we left the show team out last night. This called for desperate measures so we’ve made another big pen in the barn shovelled them in there and aimed the fans at them. They are merely damp now rather than sopping and it is supposed to be hot tomorrow so hopefully they will be dry before they arrive in the show ring at the Royal Bath & West Show. The rain is very wet if you know what I mean, penetrating and horizontal. We were supposed to be loading in tonight but we think the alpacas will be better off in our barn with fans rather than in a big marquee without fans at the show ground. It will mean that we have to get up at a seriously ungodly hour tomorrow morning. I’m pleased, another night in my comfy bed.
I had another session with the DAFNE nurse yesterday in Exeter and discovered that the ACE inhibitors really are working and that my blood pressure, even at the hospital where it usually soars, was a respectable 128/77 rather than a ‘you are about to keel over’ 150. I then had to shoot home as some people were coming to look at animals and then fly to Exeter again to get my hair done and extinguish all signs of grey hair. I told them to make it loud, it is, as when I hit 60 on Monday I have no wish to look discreet. I can be a grumpy old woman with mad hair.

Loud hair is vital. Never leave the house without it.
